For wedding ceremonies in BMCC reserves and open spaces, please observe the following rules and regulations:

  • No alcohol is permitted in Council controlled parks and open spaces. You are, however, permitted a minimal amount to be used for the purpose of ceremonial toasts.
  • The use of confetti, rice, flower petals or the like is not permitted.
  • Structures with stakes or tent pegs are not permitted. Only free-standing structures are permissible. This includes decor elements such as arches and arbours.
  • No amplification of any kind is to be used.
  • Public access is to be maintained so roping off an area within a park is not permitted.

Please note that receptions are not permitted in a Council park.

The Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is about an hour away from Parramatta and a further one hour out from Sydney CBD.

During the winter months (June, July, August), the Blue Mountains experiences its lowest temperatures and the wettest month is February with an average of 117mm of rain.

From Sydney, the easiest way to get to Katoomba, Wenworth Falls, Blackheath, Leura and Medlow Bath is via the M4 and then Great Western Highway (A32).

To access Lithgow, Bilpin, Berambing, Mount Wilson, Mount Tomah, Kurrajong, and Hartley Vale, Bells Line of Rd (A59) is the recommended route (via Richmond).

🙈 How often does it rain in the Blue Mountains?

The climate of the Blue Mountains is somewhat more temperate than the lower Sydney region.

During the winter months (June, July August), the average temperature in the Upper Mountains is around 5°C while in Summer (December, January February), the average temperature is around 18°C.

In terms of rainfall, the Blue Mountains has a similar rainfall to Sydney.

The wettest month is February with an average of 117mm of rain.
